PIOGGIA D’APRILE Listen to the beginning of "Pioggia d’Aprile" The first of the Dodici Capricci op. 25 by Alfredo Piatti, proposes a technique of continuous alternation of two adjacent strings: the musical theme of the capriccio starts from the low string alternating with the adjacent high string. In the splendid Pioggia d'Aprile, which Alfredo Piatti probably composed around 1890, the same technique is employed, but in a mirror-like way: the musical thought, accompanied by an elegant, refined part for the piano, is carried out by constantly alternating two adjacent strings from the beginning to the end of the piece, but this time starting with the higher string.
